Benefits of Artificial Turf
Call and talk to our artificial turf experts to see which type of grass is right for your playground area.
Safe and sound playtime
Artificial turf, unlike playground mulch, is safe and non-abrasive. It saves you from the worry of your kids slipping or tripping around the play area as it gives your playground an even, leveled surface.
With the padded underlayment, there’s effective shock absorption that cushions rough landings. Children can play all day long, and you can be sure they’re injury-proof.
Dirt free house
Natural grass not only smells but also fills up with water, puddles, and unsightly mud after rain. Artificial grass curbs this problem.
Quick drain
You save countless gallons of water by installing artificial playground turf as it doesn’t require water to maintain its lush green look.
Durable
Natural grass dries out eventually. Sometimes due to inadequate sunlight, water, fertilizer burn, or dog urine. It can dry out entirely or in irregular patches. Artificial grass, on the other hand, lasts for up to 15 to 20 years — even after your children are all grown up and no longer play in the playground.
Easy Maintenance
Artificial playground turf requires little to no maintenance. It doesn’t require hours of lawn mowing, saving us our precious time and energy. All you have to do to take care of your artificial turf is to rake and rinse off the fibers with water every once in a while.
No allergic reactions
Artificial grass has no pollen flying around the playground, keeping your allergies at bay. It is free from chemicals i.e. it is non-toxic and lead-free.
Pest control
Pests and bugs love to reside in the warmth of natural grass. Some even eat away your lawn, and spread diseases to not only plants but also to humans playing in the grassy field. Artificial grass steers them away from your home as it lacks the characters of natural grass.
Eco-Friendly
According to a Swedish study, using a lawnmower for one hour has a carbon footprint equivalent to that of a 100-mile car trip. Synthetic turf eliminates land mowing and helps minimize two types of pollution: noise pollution and air pollution. Without the use of lawnmowers, there’s less noise around the house. And reduced emissions in the earth’s atmosphere.
Long-term
Although artificial turf is expensive, it’s a life-long investment.
Types of Artificial Grass
Based on the chemical nature of the yarn, there are three types of artificial grass. Call us to talk more about which one is right for your playground surface.
- Nylon
Nylon is mostly used in combination with polyethylene grass for a highly durable yard. It’s typically installed for athletic fields or golf greens. It’s perfect when you want realistic-looking fake grass.
- Natural look
- Aesthetically pleasing
- Soft texture
- Highly durable
- Can stand up to lots of foot traffic and intense weather conditions
- Polypropylene
Propylene artificial grass is the best artificial turf for you if your priority is aesthetic beauty and the most affordable artificial playground grass.
- Aesthetically pleasing
- Easy on the pocket
- Polyethylene
Polyethylene combines the qualities of nylon and polypropylene artificial grass. It works best for all types of applications — landscape edging, pool areas, outdoor play spaces, and entire lawns.
- Resembles the texture of traditional grass
- Can stand up to lots of foot traffic
- Highly durable
- Non-porous
- Easy to clean and deodorize

7 Things to Consider When Choosing Artificial Grass
- Foot-Traffic
If you have animals as pets or kids who love to jump around the play area, you’d want to get a porous turf for animal waste and also a durable one to stand against the heavy foot traffic.
- Quality
Again, consider the quality of artificial turf yarn before purchasing it. Gauge the pros and cons of nylon, polypropylene, and polyethylene artificial turf, and then pick the best one according to your priorities.
- Length of grass blades
The length of the grass blades extends from above the backing to the tip. The best choice for a lush-looking lawn is tall grass blades. But they bend easily, and over time, the entire turf becomes flat. For furniture, go for shorter grass blades as they offer more durability.
- Density and Weight
Dense turfs are aesthetic and durable. They are expensive but stay healthy for a long time. Weight only matters for locations like the balcony or rooftops as there’s a limit to the turf load they can withstand.
- Infill and Backing
Common infill materials include rubber crumbs and sand. Pick any according to your need and budget. The backing can be polyurethane, which doesn’t contract, or latex which can expand by 5-10 mm.
- Color
If you want to go for a natural look, pick turfs that are not perfect. Imperfect turf has different shades of green including olive green, lime green, and darker green
- Maintenance
Time is the deciding factor here. Pick a low-maintenance artificial turf if you have a busy schedule and cannot take care of your lawn.
Turf Installation
We not only sell synthetic grass, but we will install it as well. No job is too big or too small or our artificial turf installers.
Turf installation can be divided into 3 steps:
- Base preparation — We remove weeds and the top level of the soil. Next, install a drainage system and waterproof border.
- Base installation — add the base material and smooth it out with a rake. Next, we wet and compact the base, roll out the lawn, and spread the seam fabric over the base layers.
- Grass installation — lay out every turf strip, trim the excess artificial grass, create an opening for the seam, fasten the turf in place and add infill to complete the setup.
